How We Got Here

Our story isn't complicated. We saw a gap between what finance professionals needed and what was actually available. So we built something different.

March 2018

The Start

Founded in Port Macquarie with a simple goal: help small business owners understand their finance teams better. Started with three clients and a spare office space. We thought we'd run workshops. Turns out, businesses needed something deeper.

September 2019

Pivot Point

After working with 20+ organisations, we realised generic training didn't cut it. Each finance team had different gaps—some technical, some interpersonal. We scrapped our course catalogue and started building custom programs instead. Risky move, but it paid off.

June 2021

Remote Expansion

COVID pushed us to rethink everything. We'd been face-to-face only, which felt limiting anyway. Built out our remote capabilities—not just video calls, but actual structured virtual development. Opened us up to clients across NSW and Queensland.

February 2023

Industry Recognition

Got invited to speak at the Australian Finance Leaders Summit in Sydney. Honestly didn't expect it. Shared our approach to personnel development and had six organisations reach out the same week. That's when we knew we were onto something sustainable.

August 2024

Methodology Refinement

Published our first proper framework document after years of informal methods. Clients kept asking "how do you actually do this?" so we finally wrote it down. Now other consultants are using bits of it, which is flattering and slightly weird.

What's Next

Planning our first structured programs for late 2025 intake, starting November. We're developing two tracks: one for finance managers moving into leadership, another for operational teams needing strategic thinking skills. Applications open mid-year.

Most programs run 6-9 months, though some stretch longer if that makes sense. We're based in Port Macquarie but work with teams across Australia, either on-site or remotely depending on what fits.
